How can I list a room on your site?

To list a room on our site, just fill out the "Contact RENT A ROOM IN NYC" form at the bottom of the page. Your listing will not be visible though to the public.

How much does a room cost?

In Manhattan, uptown in the Washington Heights area and in the Bronx, the cheapest room goes for $150.00 weekly. Couples pay somewhere between $200.00 and $250.00 per week.

The rooms that we have in Brooklyn are in Crown Heights. They cost anywhere between $900.00 and $1150.00 per month.

In Brooklyn however, you don't live with the owner; instead, you share the unit with other single professionals, interns or foreign students. All rooms in Brooklyn come with WiFi.

Do you guys run a credit check?

No, we don't. But in Brooklyn, the owner will run a criminal background check.

What kind of documents do I need to rent a room?

All you need is a photo ID (passport, driver's license, etc)

Do you accept couples?

Yes.

Where do you have rooms?

We cover Manhattan (primarily uptown in the Washington Heights/Inwood areas), the Bronx; and Crown Heights Brooklyn. For now, we don't have any weekly rental in Brooklyn.

How long have you been in business?

16 years.

Will you take me to view the rooms? No, you will have to go view them yourself.

I have a small well behaved dog, is it OK?

Yes, we accept well behaved dogs and cats.

I am a student. My parents will be paying for the rent. Are you cool with that?

Yes.

I am arriving in two weeks on a Sunday evening. Can I move in on the spot?

Yes, but you will have to reserve a room in Brooklyn.

How long does it take to find a room through your service?

Most people move in the same day. Sometimes, the following day. It all depends.

I am from overseas; I don't have a job yet. Can you guys help me find a room?

Yes, we can help. We have helped many newcomers like you.

I work off the books. Will I be denied a room?

No.

I am a single mom and my child has a babysitter. Can you help?

Yes, we do help single moms find housing in the big apple.

Are you gay friendly?

Yes.

Can I use the kitchen?

Some owners allow use of kitchen and some others don't. If cooking is important to you; then make sure you discuss it with your landlord prior to your moving in.

Can I smoke in my room?

The answer is generally "no"

Can I have guests over?

It all depends on the owner.

How long does it take from Washington Heights to Times Square? Roughly 30 minutes.
